This is because in such activities, success is entirely a matter of personal efforts, and wewill have to learn to rely on ourselves and facethe consequences of ourown decisions and action. Furthermore, playing alone means that we must motivate ourselvesas there is no team pressure and there is nobody else to blame for our failure. Further still, wecan perhaps derive more happiness and satisfaction from oursuccess in individual sports, and this sense of self-recognition is essential in ourwork and life.

Teamsportscan teach at least threeskills that will benefit us forever. The social aspect of teamactivities might be whatappeals tousin the first place. Participationin such activitiesgives usan opportunity to spend time with othersin a learning environment and practiceoursocial skills. Secondly, by learning to positively handle the winning and losing outcome in teamactivities, wecan developourfair-play sportsmanship, a qualityextremely important throughout our lifetime. Thirdly, teamactivities will help usunderstand the value of cooperation. Wewill get to know that working as a team is key to success in life, though this sometimes might involvepersonal sacrifices.

To conclude, though teamactivities can teach usmany beneficial lessons, wecan learn another set of equally beneficial lessons from solo activities. It is, therefore, very unlikely for us to reach aconsensus of opinion as to which kind of activities is more beneficial than the other.
